Vladimir Horowitz supposedly said, "There are three kinds of pianists: Jewish pianists, homosexual pianists, and bad pianists." Things are different these days, at least one would hope so. One of the greatest living pianists, by almost complete critical agreement, is Martha Argerich. There are lots of others: Clara Haskil, Angela Hewitt, Maria Joäo Pires, to name only a few.
